Monitoring

Monitoring your site is important as it will help you keep track of what’s happening at the site (what’s growing and what’s not), what impact the revegetation is having on wildlife, and what can be done better in the future.

We recommend that you collect data on plant growth and plant survival rates, and take before and after photos of your site, so you can monitor progress and record change in vegetation over time – a process called photo-point monitoring. Please see here for instructions on how to monitor.

  • the percentage of plants surviving one year after planting
  • the growth rates of your plants
  • number and diversity of plants germinating from propagated plants vs tubestock
  • number of weeds and weed cover
  • birds and butterflies at your site.
